The Initiation

ALCHEMY

A seemingly magical power or the process of transmuting.

A power or process that changes or transforms something in a mysterious or impressive way.

šŸ”„ FIRE šŸ”„ The great alchemistā€¦ Take the Phoenix. This magical bird is a symbol of what happens when we allow everything that no longer serves us to burn to the ground so that we can be born again, stronger and more powerful than before. Itā€™s a process that happens over and over and over again throughout our lives - it never ends. Itā€™s through this transformation that we strip away the old stories, beliefs, and limitations so that we become more connected to our truest Self.

Fire helps us transmute lower emotional vibrations, such as fear, guilt, shame, anger, etc, and alchemizes them into higher vibrations of grace, acceptance, compassion, and most of all, love.

Itā€™s the inner flame that gets brighter and stronger as we follow our truth. It sparks our passion, inspires us to take action, and fuels us to keep moving forward.

For me, Fire is an integral part of my soulā€™s imprint and it has definitely been an underlying theme this year. While I have 6 planets in water signs, 4 of them (Sun, Moon, Mercury, & Pluto) are in Scorpio. And Scorpio is the fiery-est water sign there is. It is the alchemist of the zodiac, teaching us to go deep within, uncover the hidden pieces, and bring them to light to transmute them.

I am also an Aries Rising. In Astrology, our Rising Sign (aka Ascendant) is a huge part of our personality. It is the ā€˜maskā€™ we wear in the world and someoneā€™s first impression of us. We grow into our Rising Sign (and our entire chart) as we move through life, and this past year has definitely ignited something within me that has shifted things in a whole new way.

Phase One: The Hair

Through the years, I would experiment with hair color, often transitioning from blonde to brunette and sometimes red, but I was mostly blonde. My family loved it (especially my mom) because it ā€œfitā€ me and kept me looking young. However, red was always a color I loved. Itā€™s bold and it would make my eyes pop. I would also find that every time I was ready for a new chapter, I would change my hair.

Itā€™s like Coco Chanel said, ā€œA woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.ā€ I mean itā€™s true, a fresh do will make any girl feel like sheā€™s ready to take on the world.

Well, back in February, I was Zooming with my friend Wrenn and we were doing this meditation. When we talked afterwards about our experience, we realized that we had the same vision, just from different vantage points.

In this vision, we were in a dark chamber hallway that had torches all along the stone walls and we were both wearing long white dresses. I was running after her to warn her of something. She turns around because she heard me calling her name and then I turned to look behind me because something (or someone) was following me. As my head whipped around, she saw flames coming out of my hair.

I had already been thinking of doing something different with my hair so I took this as confirmation. Time for fire red hair. Iā€™ve never done that before. Lilith was the vibe I was going for - fierce, powerful, and badass Queen. Really, scroll back up and take the time to look at that image. She stares deep into your soul and will help you unlock that power that youā€™ve pushed aside. Reminding you to stand tall in your truth and embrace the freedom that comes from being you.

So, I took the leap and did it. It was definitely a shock at first, but I started embracing the fire and calling in more of that Aries energy. And actually, those who never knew me as blonde thought I was a natural redhead. This physical change activated my intuitive gifts even deeper. My readings evolved and were so on point that I would blow my own mind. I felt more confident and aligned than ever before.

Phase Two: The Priestess Journey

I am meant to be a healer and spiritual teacher. It shows in my birthchart, in my Human Design, and I was a facilitator for 2 retreats this year that affirmed it even more. I know it to be true. I also know that I am meant to go deeper.

So, Iā€™ve started my Priestess Journey and initiation into the Rose Lineage with Rebecca Ann in October. All the synchronicities that led me to saying yes to this program is a story for another day, but basically everything fell into perfect place for this to happen. On the second call I had with Rebecca, she guided me through a meditation. About halfway through, I was led to a cave. There were pictures all along the stone and one large fire pit in the center. I was staring at the fire for quite some time and I told her I felt called to go into the fire. So I did.

The fire was in the shape of a teepee around me but it was completely empty inside. It was like I was in a bubble and the outline was made out of the flames. Iā€™m just standing there in the middle, and all of a sudden Lilith makes her way through the flames in a sparkly gold dress (looking exactly like she does on the card I shared earlier). She walks the outline of the fire and her eyes are locked on me as she does. I knew in that moment that a) I needed to get my hair done again, but b) that I was where I needed to be.

Phase Three: The Fire Walk

My 33rd birthday was a few weeks later on Nov 8 and Wrenn told me that there was going to be a firewalk on the 14th (she went to one this past spring and the same coach was back in town and hosting another workshop). I was like HECK YES I want to walk on fire.

It was an interesting week leading up to it and we were also building up to the Full Moon Eclipse the following week. So there was a lot of past shit coming up to be cleared. (Eclipses are catalysts for major life changes and shifts). As I arrived Sunday morning, I realized that the moon was making its way through Aries that same day - sparking a true initiation and new beginning for this next chapter. At this point on my journey, Iā€™ve come to realize that everything happens as it should and it is all for a reason. So itā€™s definitely no coincidence.

There were 3 main intentions set for the dayā€¦

1) that all the right people were there

2) that the wind would die down completely by the time we got to the fire - it was a cold & windy start (20mph+ winds forecasted)

3) that the fire would be ice cold as we walked it

Well, there were 13 of us in attendance - which is a magical number (no itā€™s not bad luck). Temps were in the 40s and it was pretty windy. We all were layered up, some in hats and gloves, and wrapped in blankets, but the sun was shining bright.

We started the day with a team building exercise where we split into 2 groups of 6 people and had to work together to bring a hula hoop to the ground. We had to keep the hula hoop on our index fingers at all times and only the newbies (most were returning firewalkers) could communicate with the group on what to do to get the hula hoop all the way down. Sounds simple right? Well, youā€™d be surprised that the hoop seemed to have a mind of its own - flying around and we ended up moving around the field chasing after it and confused as to why/how the hoop was making its way out of our hands. The more we seemed to focus on what the heck the hoop was doing, where it was going, and why it was doing that, the more chaotic it became. After several minutes, we shifted our focus on our initial intention - to get the hoop to the ground, and started communicating how to do THAT. The lesson: Your focus & intention are everything. Focus on what you want to have happen instead of the distraction of whatā€™s happening and why itā€™s not going the way you want it to. The moment we began solely communicating on bringing the hoop down and ignoring the rest, we achieved the goal within seconds.

The next segment was a reflection of where we were at currently in our lives (career, finances, love, etc) and what was stopping us from feeling like we were at a 10 in each category. We wrote down and shared our thoughts and looked for any underlying themes. We were handed a wood board and on one side wrote those limiting beliefs and stories that we wanted to let go of. On the other side, we wrote down our big dreams and goals. We would go on to break the boards with our hands (you know like they do in karate). Everything we wanted to release was face up and we broke through the board so that we could reach our dreams and goals waiting for us on the other side. The pieces would be used to throw into the fire so that the transmutation would occur. The lesson: You must be willing to look at your life and reflect upon it honestly so that you know what to focus on next. Also, taking the time to truly listen to others without any interference or response at all as they share their stories is important to allow them to feel seen & heard.

The sun started to set and we were led through a guided meditation as we prepared for the final moments before the fire. Sure enough, by this point the wind had died down completely. It was as still and as perfect as could be.

We all sat along the fire and watched as it burned, connecting to its magic, and preparing our minds for the moment we get to walk across the coals. The coach shared stories about past walkers and what we needed to do to get our minds on the same page - of being able to walk across the fire without getting burned and the coals feeling cold under our feet.

A couple hours later, the path was laid out and it was time. As I stood staring at the still burning coals, I took a deep breath followed with my first step. Iā€™m not sure what I thought it would feel like, but it certainly wasnā€™t anything I was expecting. It felt like ashes underneath my feet and the wild thing was that it didnā€™t even feel hot. My mind was so blown, that I walked it two more times. No blisters or burns on my feet at all! Like whaaat!? šŸ¤ÆšŸ¤Æ

The lesson: You can literally trick your mind into anything.

This is powerful stuff. Just imagine ... everything you thought was true, is it really? Have you re-checked yourself lately? What stories are you playing over and over in your head that are keeping you stuck?

Change your mind & rewrite your story. Focus on what you want to happen and take action from there. From a place of inspiration and excitement, not through fear or the projections and opinions of others.

If youā€™ve made it this far, thank you! I hope this post has sparked your curiosity and you find yourself encouraged to try something new, or inspired you to take action towards that dream/goal youā€™ve been pushing aside.

You can literally do anything you put your mind to. All you have to do is take that first step!

I posted a reel on my Instagram page sharing a quick recap about the day - check it out here.
